Hi everyone

I am designing a custom board that uses the Cortex M3 architecture.
I want to use BeRTOS and open source compilers only.(preferably GNU series)
Do you recommend that i go in for STM32F2 series or the LPC1678 series?

Also what cross-compiler/uploader should i use that is compatible with BeRTOS.
My development platform on my desktop is Linux.

Thanks in advance
Srianth

Hi srinath,
right now there are already some models of the STM32F1 series supported, so I think porting BeRTOS to the F2 series will be a matter of days (just check if the current drivers work and maybe change some register access); whereas, the LPC1xxx series (Cortex-M3) is unsupported so it should be a matter of weeks (you will need to write from scratch debug, timer, serial, embedded flash and i2c).

See this tutorial to setup your environment on various operating systems.

Cheers,
Luca
